Gen- 1:1
1. בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ׃
בְּרֵאשִׁית in the beginning
בָּרָא created (Qal perfect 3rd person masculine singular of בָרָא create)
אֱלֹהִים God
אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם the heavens
וְאֵת הָאָרֶץ and the earth
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2. וְהָאָרֶץ הָיְתָה תהוּ וָבֹהוּ וְחֹשֶׁךְ עַל־פְּנֵי תְהוֹם וְרוּח אֱלּהִים מְרַחֶפֶת עַל־פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם׃
וְהָאָרֶץ and the earth
הָיְתָה was (Qal perfect 3rd person feminine singular of הָיָה was)
תהוּ formless
וָבֹהוּ and void
וְחֹשֶׁךְ and darkness
עַל־פְּנֵי over the face
תְהוֹם of the deep
וְרוּח and the spirit
אֱלּהִים of God
מְרַחֶפֶת was moving (Piel participle feminine singular of רָחַף shake/move)
עַל־פְּנֵי over the face
הַמָּיִם׃ of the waters
And the earth was formless and void and darkness over the face of the deep and the spirit of God was moving over the face of the water.
3. וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים יְהִי אוֹר וַיְהִי־אוֹר׃
וַיֹּאמֶר and said (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of אָמַר to say)
אֱלֹהִים God
יְהִי let there be (Qal imperfect jussive 3rd person masculine singular of הָיָה he was)
אוֹר light
וַיְהִי־ and there was (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
אוֹר light
And God said, “Let there be light” and there was light.
4. וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָאוֹר כִּי־טוֹב וַיַּבְדֵּל אֱלֹהִים בֵּין הָאוֹר וּבֵין הַחֹשֶׁךְ׃
וַיַּרְא and saw (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of רָאָה to see)
אֱלֹהִים God
אֶת־ הָאוֹר the light
כִּי־ that
טוֹב good
וַיַּבְדֵּל and divided (Hiphil imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of בָּדל Divide)
אֱלֹהִים God
בֵּין between
הָאוֹר the light
וּבֵין and between
הַחֹשֶׁךְ the darkness
And God saw the light that it was good and God divided between light and darkness.
5. וַיִּקְרָא אֱלֹהִים לָאוֹר יוֹם וְלַחֹשׁךְ קָרָא לָיְלָה וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם אֶחָד׃
וַיִּקְרָא and called (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of קָרָא to call)
אֱלֹהִים God
לָאוֹר the light
יוֹם day
וְלַחֹשׁךְ and darkness
קָרָא he called (Qal perfect 3rd person masculine singular of קָרָא to call)
לָיְלָה night
וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב and there was evening (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר and there was morning (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
יוֹם day
אֶחָד the first
And God called the light day and darkness he called night and there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
6. וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים יְהִי רָקִיעַ בְּתוֹךְ הַמָּיִם וִיהִי מַבְדִּיל בֵּין מַיִם לָמָיִם׃
וַיֹּאמֶר and said (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of אָמַר to say
אֱלֹהִים God
יְהִי let there be (Qal imperfect jussive 3rd person masculine singular of הָיָה he was)
רָקִיעַ a dome
בְּתוֹךְ in the midst
הַמָּיִם of the water
וִיהִי and let it (Qal imperfect jussive 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
מַבְדִּיל divide (Hiphil participle masculine singular of בָּדל Divide)
בֵּין between
מַיִם the water
לָמָיִם in the waters
And the God said, “Let there be a dome in the midst of the water and let it divide between water and in the waters.”
7. וַיַּעַשׂ אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָרָקִיעַ וַיַּבְדֵל בֵּין הַמַּיִם אֲשֶר מִתַּחַת לָרָקִיעַ וּבֵין הַמַּיִם אֲשֶׁר מֵעַל לָרָקִיעַ וַיְהִי־כֵן׃
וַיַּעַשׂ so made (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of עָשָׂהto do /make)
אֱלֹהִים God
אֶת־הָרָקִיעַ the dome
וַיַּבְדֵל and he divide (Hiphil imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of בָּדל Divide)
בֵּין between
הַמַּיִם the water
אֲשֶר that
מִתַּחַת under
לָרָקִיעַ to /for dome
וּבֵין and
הַמַּיִם the waters
אֲשֶׁר that
מֵעַל above
לָרָקִיעַ to /for dome
וַיְהִי־כֵן and it was so (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was )
And God made the dome and he divided the water that were under to dome and the water that above to dome and it was so.
8. וַיִּקְרָא אֱלֹהֵים לָרָקִיעַ שָׁמָיִם וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם שֵׁנִי׃
וַיִּקְרָא and called (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of קָרָא to call)
אֱלֹהֵים God
לָרָקִיעַ to dome
שָׁמָיִם sky
וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב and there was evening (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר and there was morning (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
יוֹם day
שֵׁנִי the second
God called to dome sky and there was evening and there was morning, the second day.
9. וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים יִקָּווּ הַמַּיִם מִתַּחַת הַשָּׁמַיִם אֶל־מָקוֹם אֶחָד וְתֵרָאֶה הַיַּבָּשָׁה וַיְהִי־כֵן׃
וַיֹּאמֶר and said (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of אָמַר to say)
אֱלֹהִים God
יִקָּווּ let be gathered together (Niphal imperfect 3rd person masculine plural of קָוָה gather)
הַמַּיִם the waters
מִתַּחַת under
הַשָּׁמַיִם the heavens
אֶל־מָקוֹם into place
אֶחָד one
וְתֵרָאֶה and let appear (Niphal imperfect 3rd person feminine singular with wow consecutive of רָאָה to see/ appear)
הַיַּבָּשָׁה the dry land
וַיְהִי־כֵן and it was so(Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of הָיָה he was)
And God said, let be gathered together the waters under the heavens into one place and let appear the dry land, and it was so.
10. וַיִּקְרָא אֱלֹהֵים לַיַּבָּשָׁה אֶרֶץ וּלְמִקְוֵה הַמַּיִם קָרָא יַמִּים וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים כִּי־טוֹב׃
וַיִּקְרָא and called(Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of קָרָא to call)
אֱלֹהֵים God
לַיַּבָּשָׁה to the dry land
אֶרֶץ earth
וּלְמִקְוֵה and the gathered together
הַמַּיִם of the waters
קָרָא he called (Qal perfect 3rd person masculine singular of קָרָא to call)
יַמִּים seas
וַיַּרְא and saw (Qal imperfect 3rd person masculine singular with wow consecutive of רָאָה to see)
אֱלֹהִים God
כִּי־טוֹב that good
And God called to the dry land earth and the gathered together of the waters he called seas and God saw that it was good.
